Our Lottery Grant
As well as the grants listed in previous posts we were also granted £10,000 from the Lottery which meant we could push ahead with modernising the Law Centre and its procedures. We used the money to get computers and printers set up in every room, a colour printer in the main office and a new telephone system. The new computers have really helped when seeing clients, meaning caseworkers don’t have to keep nipping back and forth between the main office and the interview room. They can also write letters and forms etc to print off and give to the client while they wait. Using a computer in reception has also allowed us to put clients straight onto our database, instead of photocopying their forms etc wasting paper.
Here are some photos of the new equipment;

Good News!
For the financial year 2009-2010 we managed to gain a massive £1,391,118.56 for our clients!

Grants
Recently, here at the Law Centre, we have been very busy applying for new ways of funding!
Fortunately for us, Access to Justice accepted our bid and have granted us £2000.
As well as this Gloucestershire Community Foundation also granted us £1000.
This money will be invested wisely in revamping the Law Centre to try and get it up to speed with changing technologies, we are trying to move away from being a more paper based office to a computer based office, this will in the long run save us a lot of money in paper and save a lot of time in copying from paper to computer too! This time of course can be put into casework which will be an improvement to our service!
The plan is to network computers into all of our interview rooms as well as reception, we will also be upgrading our photocopier so it will have a new built in scanner.
No Longer Recruiting Volunteers!
A quick post just to say we are no longer accepting Volunteer applications for the time being. This is due to already having enough volunteers within the Law Centre to lend a helping hand.
If this situation changes, the website will be updated accordingly.
New Trustees Wanted!
This is a post for anyone that lives or works in Gloucestershire and is interested in becoming a Trustee of the Law Centre.
Take a look at the links below for more details and information on how to apply:
Thanks and Good Luck!
