Case Study:

Mrs W approached the Law Centre about a problem she was experiencing at work with her supervisor - he had been sexually harassing her both verbally and physically. The supervisor denied the harassment and their employer denied any responsibility. The company on whose site the harassment took place also denied responsibility.

The case went to a full Tribunal hearing, which lasted 3 days. Having heard all the evidence, the Tribunal concluded that Mrs W had been sexuallt harassedas claimed. She was awarded £7,659.68 compensation for injury to feelings, including interest.

Responsibility for payment of the compensation was split between the supervisor who carried out the harassment, the employer, and the company on whose premises the harassment took place, because they had failed to take any effective action to put a stop to the harassment once they were made aware of it.

Our client was delighted with the result, commenting that "The Law Centre is very professional but also made me feel comfortable and at ease, and my case was handled really well. My representative was very supportive and encouraging the whole time. I would not have gone through with it with anyone else. I would recommend the Law Centre to everyone".
